Course Overview
Every intersection, signal, and work zone represents a moment of critical decision-making for a commercial driver. The Traffic Control Compliance and Intersection Safety (TCCIS) course equips CDL holders with the knowledge and judgment needed to navigate complex roadway environments safely, legally, and professionally.

This course dives deep into CDL-specific traffic laws — from understanding low-clearance and truck-route signage to mastering intersection timing, railroad crossings, and temporary construction zones. Drivers learn how to interpret roadway information accurately, make precise stop-or-go decisions, and avoid costly violations that can lead to CDL disqualification.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize and comply with CDL-specific signs and markings, including weight limits, clearance warnings, and route restrictions.

• Apply the “Point of No Return” principle for safe and legal intersection management.

• Execute proper railroad-crossing procedures, including mandatory stops and safe clearance techniques.

• Safely operate in temporary traffic-control and construction zones, obeying flaggers and reduced speed limits.

• Understand how violations at intersections and work zones are classified as Serious Traffic Violations (STVs) under FMCSA rules.
