CDL Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) - HazMat Endorsement

Upon successful completion of this training, the student will be able to:

• Identify and classify hazardous materials according to DOT regulations.

• Understand the proper use and placement of placards, labels, and markings on packages and Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).

• Demonstrate proficiency in using and completing shipping papers and mandatory documentation.

• Comply with specific operational rules regarding fueling, tire checks, route planning, and railroad crossings.

• Implement correct emergency response and reporting procedures in the event of a crash or release.

• Meet the federal knowledge requirements necessary to pass the "H" endorsement exam.

This course is mandatory for:

• Any individual seeking to add the Hazardous Materials Endorsement (H) to their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

• CDL holders who require the "H" endorsement to transport placardable hazardous materials.

Prerequisite Note: Successful completion and submission of the results to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR) is a non-negotiable federal requirement before an individual is permitted to take the official CDL knowledge test for the "H" endorsement.

The course is delivered as Knowledge Training (Theoretical Instruction) and follows a strictly defined, unit-based curriculum:

• Instructional Mode: Theoretical and regulatory-focused instruction (online or classroom).

• Certification Process: Upon passing the course assessments, the results are electronically submitted to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR).

• Assessment: Knowledge assessments are conducted throughout the course to ensure mastery of the required material.
